The Texas Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin weekend work on the FM 1472 (Mines Rd.) Intersections Project.
Construction begins July 9 and is expected to impact traffic beginning on Fridays at 6 p.m. until Mondays at 6 a.m. when the road re-opens completely to traffic.
The FM 1472 (Mines Rd.) Intersections Project will be constructed by Price Construction at a cost of $1.85 million, using traditional state transportation funds. The work, on north- and southbound lanes, will consist of asphalt pavement replacement at various locations and rebuilding of intersections and intersection approaches with concrete. Intersections to be impacted include Interamerica Boulevard, Trade Center Boulevard, Mueller Boulevard and Pan American Boulevard. The project will be completed in approximately five months, weather permitting.
Traffic should slow down, expect alternating lane closures and prepare to merge to open lane(s). As always, the traveling public is asked to drive with extreme caution and observe all traffic safety signs, road markings and channelization devices in and around the work area.
